Snowshoe & Soak – Missoula (Grades K-12) – Saturday, January 10

After a cool, crisp snowshoe through the snowy trails of Lolo Pass, Girl Scouts will get to soak the chill away in the hot and warm springs of Lolo Hot Springs. Missoula Parks and Recreation will generously supply the lessons and the snowshoes. Just bring your boots & suits!
Participants will meet at McCormick Park near Currents Aquatic Center. From there, girls will hop in a van and/or caravan to the snowshoe site near Lolo Hot Springs Resort. Girls will be fitted for their snowshoes and venture on hikes with age-appropriate groups and instruction.

Highest Awards Training – Missoula (Grades 4-12) – Wednesday, January 14

Are you a girl who wants to earn a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award but don’t know where to start? Or are you an adult volunteer guiding girls toward their awards? This interactive workshop is for YOU!
This training will incorporate the outcomes of all three Girl Scout Keys to Leadership: Discover, Connect, and Take Action, with a heavy focus on the outcomes of the Take Action Key.
Each participant will receive a copy of the Adult and/or Girl Guidelines for the Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. Participants will also enjoy pizza and salad.

Participants should bring a notebook, pen, and folder.
This training is for troop leaders at any level as well as girls in grades 4 through 12.
Registration deadline is January 2.

Leadership Swim Party – Missoula (Grades K-12) – Friday, January 23

Celebrate your Girl Scout Sisterhood and the leadership skills you gain with a swim and pizza party at Currents Aquatic Center. Girl Scouts get the whole swimming center to themselves for the night! Enjoy pizza, veggies, and juice as well as swimming and activities that emphasize fun and girls’ leadership skills!
The event is open only to registered Girl Scouts and registered Girl Scout adults.

This event is open to girls of all ages and adults.
Registration deadline is January 11.

Zink the Zebra – Missoula (Grades K-5) – Tuesday, February 17

Zink is a zebra with spots instead of stripes. At this event, we will provide a fun and unique program that celebrates people’s differences through crafts and fun activities based on the story of this very special zebra. Through a delightful and engaging storybook, participants will meet Zink and participate in activities that help girls understand that it’s okay to be different.
A drink and a snack is included in the price.
This is a ‘Recruit a Friend’ event. Invite a non-Girl Scout friend and earn a ‘Recruit a Friend’ fun patch for each friend who registers.
This event is open to girls in grades K-5 and supervising adults. This event will fill up fast, and we have very limited supplies, so please register early! Registration deadline is February 3.

Zink the Zebra

Intro to Snowboarding – Missoula (Grades 2-12) – Sunday, February 22

Calling all girls who have ever dreamt of shredding, gliding, or racing down the slopes. Here’s a chance for beginners to try snowboarding with a lesson and some free time on the rope tow run at Snowbowl.
Participating girls will also have a chance to receive a brand new snowboard or boots, but the sizes are very limited. Please thank our wonderful volunteer for donating her time and the giveaway boards and boots – this is her 4th year giving us these wonderful gifts!
The $15 program fee covers a lesson, rope tow ticket, snowboard & boot rental, and helmet use. When you register, please include the following in the ‘special needs’ box: participant’s shoe size, age, and height. A parent/guardian signature is required on the rental agreement which we will send with a confirmation letter two weeks before the program.
This event is open to girls in grades 2-12

Family Night With the Harlem Globetrotters – Missoula (grades K-12, Friends & Family) – Friday, February 27

Girl Scouts, be a part of the Globetrotter Nation! The Globetrotters are hoping to pack the Adams Center with Girl Scouts and their families so they have offered a discounted ticket price! The Globetrotters will be coming to play an exhibition game in Missoula, Montana on February 27th, 2015, and they want you, your friends, and your family to be there.
