Local Annual Meeting

Missoula Town Hall Annual Meeting (Adults & Girls)

It’s not too late to register for the annual meeting held in Missoula next weekend!  This year’s Annual Meeting business will be conducted differently this year.  This format (Town Hall Meeting) will provide members with an opportunity to engage in dialogue with council staff on matters of importance to Girl Scouts. It is also an opportunity for us to recognize and celebrate local volunteers in their own communities! Saturday, Mar 15, 2014 from 11:00 AM 2:00 PM;  $15/Girl; $15/Adult

In Missoula on March 15th, all members are invited to attend a town hall meeting of their choice to:

  • Hear the state of the council report
  • Discuss council direction with staff
  • Celebrate our awesome volunteers!

Participants will enjoy a luncheon with peers and staff while receiving information on the state of the council, participating in discussions about current council direction and participating in a traditional S.W.A.P.S. exchange.   Each meeting will conclude with a volunteer recognition celebration.  If you are a volunteer receiving recognition, and you want to invite your family members under the age of 14, your local Community Development Manager can register them on your behalf.

A registration fee of $15.00 will be assessed for each attendee and the fee will be reimbursed to volunteers who receive awards. The fee includes lunch/dinner meal.  Please follow this link for more information.  This event is open to girls and adults.

Registration deadline: March 7;  Register for this program online

Engineer That, Girl!-Missoula (Grades 2-8)

Let’s make Engineer That, Girl! the biggest GSMW event in Missoula this year!  Join us for Missoula’s most engaging, fun, and inspiring girls’ engineering expo of the decade! Calling all girls who like to innovate, create, and design things to make the world a better place! Bring your best friends to this fun and inspiring event that will challenge you and teach you all the tricks of the engineering trade.

You’ll build catapults, create structures that stand up to earthquakes, and play with electric circuits and robotics. Women engineers from Missoula are bringing all their ‘tricks of the trade’ to share with Girl Scouts. The Forest Service, Mountain Water, and SpectrUM, among other organizations, are going to give girls useful freebies that will inspire them to follow their dreams to become creators, innovators, and leaders in science and engineering.

The day will start with mingling, pastries, and hot drinks. Girls are welcome to tour the informational booths, talk with area experts, and grab freebies to take home to start home-grown creative projects. After a short kickoff presentation, girls will participate in at least five hands-on activities designed to challenge and inspire the creative and scientific side in every girl. Each age group has specific design challenges to meet and different activities to enjoy. Girls will enjoy building new toys, experimenting with structures and electricity, and taking home cool creations and prizes.

Every girl in grades 2 through 8 is welcome to join us at this event. Please spread the word and invite your friends. If you bring a non-Girl Scout friend, you will earn a ‘Bring a Friend’ patch. Please call Sarah at 1.800.736.5243 to register your friend. Let’s make this the biggest Girl Scout event in Missoula!

This event is open to girls in grades 2-8 and supervising adults.
